Ben Hack, Stephen Zrebiec and Justin White Assist Neighbor to Battle Barn Fire
On Sunday, March 14, Unionville High School juniors Ben Hack and Stephen Zrebiec, both members of Boy Scout Troop 31, were driving to Ben's house after attending a National Youth Leadership Training program. When they saw smoke and flames emanating from Ben's neighbor Don DeNenno's barn and the surrounding area, the teenagers sprang into action. Aided by their fellow Boy Scout Justin White and Stephen's dad Ken Zrebiec—an Eagle Scout himself—they worked to prevent the spread of the fire until help arrived. We talked to Ben and Stephen about the experience and how their scouting skills gave them the knowledge and confidence to tackle the fire.

Memorial Day Service at Brandywine Baptist Church

Chadds Ford Township Honors Eagle Scout Candidate Akash Patel for Eagle Scout Project
Chadds Ford Township supervisors and state Rep. Craig Williams honored resident Akash Patel for Patel’s Eagle Scout project.
Supervisor Noelle Barbone said Patel’s project involved building and delivering two tables and four benches for township building staff and two benches for outside the building’s front door.

Service Project: Placing Flags on Veterans Graves at Longwood Gardens Cemetary
Troop 31 Chadds Ford and State Representative Christina Sappey placed flags on veteran graves at Longwood Gardens on May 28th in preparation for Memorial Day.
